Tucked away in the heart of the NSW Hunter Valley, Patanga Estate redefines sustainable living, seamlessly blending off-grid independence with modern luxury. Designed by the visionary team at Fabric Architecture, the estate is a testament to thoughtful design and environmental harmony.
Tasked with delivering a sophisticated electrical solution for Stage 1, Copper Electrical played a pivotal role in bringing this self-sufficient sanctuary to life. The scope included a luxury pool house and a dedicated services shed, housing a state-of-the-art off-grid solar system and backup generator. This advanced setup ensures seamless energy efficiency, allowing the estate to function entirely off-grid while upholding its commitment to sustainability.
The Process
With a project of this scale, strategic planning was essential—not only to meet immediate needs but to future-proof the estate for upcoming development stages. Working closely with Andrew George from Lou Projects, we navigated complex challenges with agility and expertise. Given the unique nature of this off-grid project, unexpected hurdles were inevitable, yet none were insurmountable. Our team provided tailored solutions at every stage, ensuring the highest level of reliability and efficiency.
A key element of the project was the installation of large underground sub-mains, creating a robust electrical backbone to support future expansions. Every aspect of the estate’s energy system was meticulously designed to strike the perfect balance between modern comfort and energy conservation.
The Outcome
Through a collaborative partnership with lead architect Brent Fitzpatrick, we curated an energy strategy that prioritised efficiency without compromising luxury. The selection of low-energy lighting and smart appliances significantly reduced the daily demand on the estate’s off-grid solar system, ensuring sustainable power consumption without sacrificing modern conveniences.
Patanga Estate now stands as a benchmark for off-grid sophistication, demonstrating that sustainability and luxury can coexist effortlessly.
