Located in the tranquil coastal landscape of Killcare, NSW, Ahara House is a breathtaking architecturally designed home that seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with sustainable living. Designed by renowned architect Luke Farrugia, this home was constructed using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), a cutting-edge building method that enhances energy efficiency and follows Passive House principles.

This meticulously designed residence embraces natural light, thermal efficiency, and innovative electrical solutions, ensuring year-round comfort with minimal environmental impact. The result is a home that is not only visually stunning but also highly functional, offering a low-energy, high-performance living experience.


The Process

Copper Electrical was engaged to create a lighting and electrical design that complemented the home’s sustainable design and architectural vision. Our approach focused on enhancing ambiance, functionality, and energy efficiency, while maintaining the minimalist, high-end aesthetic of the home.

Given the Passive House principles, careful planning was required to integrate electrical solutions that supported the home’s airtight insulation and energy conservation goals. We strategically placed multiple lighting points throughout the home to create a warm, intimate atmosphere, using a mix of task lighting, ambient lighting, and accent lighting.

Our team worked closely with Lou Projects to ensure that every element of the electrical design aligned with the home’s eco-friendly ethos.

The Outcome

The result is a seamlessly integrated, beautifully illuminated home that enhances both comfort and aesthetics. By using layered lighting solutions, we achieved an inviting ambiance that adapts to different moods and functions.
